Mauro Libi: Tell us how your desk is and we will tell you who you are

Your desk speaks for you. According to his presentation we can say that the person who works in it is a disorderly or organized person, methodical or improvising, traditional or creative. For the entrepreneur or simply for the bosses, the desks can reveal the nature of his employees, his values.

Let's look at four keys that can help you understand the personality of your team members.

1. Tidy desktop says reliable staff, and not only that, the order on the desktop reveals that the person is punctual. They are people oriented to action, have initiative and are organized in their work. Understand that this does not mean that people whose desks are disorderly are not trustworthy. We are talking about image. Creative people are usually a bit messy, but this mess can be a nasty matter for some people.

2. The unusual objects on the desk speak of creative people and willing to live new experiences. Innovative companies attract creative people and promote people who are able to pass the boundaries.

3. Far from belief, desks with posters and motivational messages reveal the presence of neurotic people and that proliferation of phrases is only there to calm the anxiety.

4. Meanwhile, extroverted people prefer spaces, desks and inviting offices, to be exact, with the door always open as a call to approach, to relate, to talk, to establish a friendship, and your desk, what does it say about you?

Mauro Libi Crestani: How to prevents mental overload?

A leading psychologist claims whistling or singing helps distract the mind from trying too hard and prevents mental overload. Wow! The Dwarfs were right!  Whistling while you work makes you do your job better . The seven dwarfs knew from positive attitude and they knew how to get things done and enjoy it. They also knew the secret to staying calm. Far from being down to 'just nerves' , choking up  occurs when the brain finds itself with too many pieces of information to process, resulting in 'paralysis by analysis', argues Dr Sian Beilock of the University of Chicago. The same holds true when presenting a vital sales pitch, making an important golf putt or doing an acting audition. So you do not want to choke up and lose that sale, that golf game or that acting job, then  maybe you need to  whistle while you work.     Not just whistling. When you’re humming, singing, or laughing, it’s also difficult to be stressed. It puts...
