Mauro Libi Crestani: “The golden rule for every businessman is this: put yourself in the customers place.”

By Mauro Libi Crestani . Categorize Customers can be a very productive and profitable  initiative for an office. I was to quote an article called Increasing Sales Productivity By Getting Salespeople to Work Smarter   by Dr. Harish Sujan, Barton Weitz, and Mita Sujan. “While personal selling as a communication vehicle has the advantage of allowing salespeople to treat each customer differently, in practice, salespeople cannot take the time to treat each customer in a totally unique manner.” “The golden rule for every businessman is this: put yourself in the customers place.”  , Orison Swett Marden. People are different and companies are different. If you are trying to sell products to a woman’s boutique shop you may cater your sales pitch on beauty items, on items that would enhance a woman’s looks. If you were selling products to an auto repair shop, your sales pitch might cater to reliability of the product and its longevity. Once I saw a movie with Mel G...

Mauro Libi Crestani: Negative self esteem or self image will cause you to fail at everything

Look at what's happened to me, I can't believe it myself,  Suddenly I'm on top of the world, It should've been somebody else. These words are from a song that describe so many of us .  Here this young man becomes the most powerful person on Earth and he has such a negative self image that he still sees himself as Ioser. Many of us have this innate negative attitude towards ourselves. We feel that either we are not capable or not worthy to succeed or to be special. Negative self esteem or self image will cause you to fail at everything.  Imagine thinking to yourself, " I am going to fail for sure". If you were the boss of a company would you hire someone with that attitude?  Excessive self-criticism tends to backfire, because it leads us to focus on our so-called failures instead of the " small ways that we could haveimproved ," .  When you make a comment after a meeting that your talk was stupid and that probably ruined your career. Tha...

Mauro Libi Crestani: Top tips on creative thinking as a powerful business tool

Do you remember playing the word association game? What is the first thing that comes to mind in response to 'creativity?' For most people it is probably 'art' or something similar, it is probably never 'business.' Creativity is not simply the preserve of the artist. It is something built into everyone, even the businessperson! Thinking creatively is a powerful business tool that can help businesses exploit new opportunities and solve problems, all of which can result in improved profitability. Mike Waddell of Adsidia offers tips on creative thinking as a tool to help you generate new thinking in your business. Edward de Bono, of 'lateral thinking' and 'Six Thinking Hats' fame, observed that the human mind is a very efficient pattern making and matching system. The problem is that our minds are lazy. This means that we tend to force fit new scenarios to old patterns instead of making new ones. De Bono called this 'cliché thi...

Mauro Libi Crestani: Bad attitude, no business

Norman Vincent Peale said, " A person who sends out positive thoughts activates the world around him positively and draws back to himself positive results".  A positive attitude is contagious. As a leader you set the tone. Imagine, if a company has a morning huddle of its top executives with the president of the company. The president has a bad attitude. He comes in criticizing his mangers. He puts them down and tells everyone that the company will probably go under. He threatens their jobs and they do not feel happy about the company or secure. How do you think the managers will then in turn treat their employees? How do you think they will treat their customers? The good news it that it works the other way also. It's amazing how your attitude, whether positive or negative,  as a manager can set the tone among your workers and customers. Have you ever worked around someone with an unpleasant attitude? Did you like it? If you set the tone for a positive attitude, if ...

Mauro Libi Crestani: The smile may be the most powerful sales tool ever

When you or your employees meet a client for a potential sale or a potential new customer, impressions really matter. Before you even say a word, the customer is forming opinions about you and your company. Are you prepared to make this sale? Yes, you carefully prepared what you are going to say, you also dressed just right. What may be the most important aspect of the sales meeting is often ignored. This one important aspect, can make or break your sale. This is to remember to smile. The smile may be the most powerful sales tool ever. A good leader knows that a product is only as good as the employees that make it. If the people in a company are happy and have positive attitudes this reflects on their management. If you go to a company to consider using them and no one at that company seems happy and no one is smiling, this is a company that zaps the energy out of its employees. Would you want to get involved in that company? If the employees are that negative and sad, they proba...

Mauro Libi Crestani: The word success is there only in the dictionary?

A young reader of my blogs said that in his personal experience, he understood that success was only a word was in the dictionary, and apparently - according to their perception-had only a linguistic meaning. He also told me that he found it   "interesting"  that I considered my father as  "asuccessful man" . Certainly there are many people who have the same perception of the success that the young reader. For years they have perceived the victory as something that does not exist and have not received information about the true nature of success, as individuals, as entrepreneurs and as a society. Since I'm not an expert in these matters, I just dedicate myself to write my opinion on such issues, I suggest you review the dictionary definition of success, exactly as the young man says. In the dictionary of the Spanish language it says that success is a word of Latin origin on exitus meaning ("Exit"), and the concept refers to the right effect ...

Mauro Libi: One second is the difference between success and failure.

Libi: I love baseball. I love going to the stadium. Picture this scenario. The bases are loaded and its the ninth inning. There are two outs. Your team is down by one run. The pitched ball is thrown to the batter and you hit the ball and it goes 390 feet. It looks like a home run. Your team is going to win the game. Suddenly a gust of wind blows the ball one inch into the foul zone, one inch flying past the poll in the foul side. One inch to the right and your team would have won the game. But it went one inch to the other side of the pole. Success and failure was based on one inch. In the business world being successful or failing can be noticing and being able to read the market and acting in it. One day longer can change everything. Constantly ideas come across us everyday and we do not even notice. The successful person learns to sensitive to what the market will desire. There is a story of the Swiss watch market that controlled the watch industry. In their own marke...

Mauro Libi: What is the difference between success and failure?

The answer is acting on your ideas and initiatives. This may seem like a simple answer but it is only simple in hindsight. A successful person constantly looks for ways to be ahead of the competition, looks for ways to be the best. This involves constantly learning and training to be the best in your field. This education and training gives you the ability to think and come up with ideas. An idea doesn't do you any good if you do not act on it. However acting on something new is a risk.  It's never been tested. It may not be accepted by the public. But if you believe in your idea, action is not enough. You have to excite your customers or the general public about your idea. Apple I-phones and its generic cell phone company competition are always looking for new innovations. They always try to come up with new technology first. At the same time for months before their new idea is marketed, they do everything possible to excite the public about the new and coming ...

Mauro Libi: Look the way to be one step above the rest

Apple computer company constantly looks for ways to be one step above the rest. Coming out with the best cell phone is not enough.  It's that constant desire to be one step above the rest. To come out with a new technology before anyone does. To have everyone to try to compare their product to yours, while you make sure that it is never as good as yours.  http://maurolibientrepreneur.blogspot.com/2015/08/mauro-libi-look-way-to-be-one-step.html

Mauro Libi Crestani: Challenges and failures in business

Every business has it’s times of failures. A good entrepreneur does not let the challenges and failures get him down but sees opportunity to build an even stronger company . Its those tough times that really require a proper business leader to keep positive. Being positive , helps the mind think clearly and gives one an energy needed in those hard times. Having  positive goals and direction is what is needed to be successful. Of course you have to be realistic and not sugar coat the failures but by staying negative, it hampers our creativity and ability to think clearly. The answer to failure is not negativity. The answer is to be positive. Be positive that you can be turn it all around to success . http://maurolibientrepreneur.blogspot.com/2015/08/mauro-libi-crestani-challenges-and.html
