Mauro Libi: Businesses family: care and control

The durability in time of the familiar companies depends very much of the care and control that they have. Like any organization, it is necessary to achieve the objectives, goals and strategies that have been established at the time of its constitution and in addressing the different projects that take place in it. The control exercised over them seeks to influence the definition of the last objectives, but not in the operational means of the organization to achieve them, which depend on the administrative part. Achieving business objectives involves some control of the means by which it is possible to achieve them.

There is clarity in what control means influencing procedures and making it possible to do business as usual with strategies and objectives. In the organizations, there are:

 A) Control of specific actions: To ensure that the organization's tasks are carried out and the behavioral, physical and administrative restrictions are implemented.

 B) Control of the results intended: To verify that the results meet the needs expressed by the objectives and with the planned.

 C) Control of the personnel: This ensures that the members contribute the best for the organization.
In family businesses, disbelief about the role of the family inside the organization is common, as it is seen as a source of uncertainty for the proper functioning of the business.

Some specialists have observed that control in family businesses involves the establishment of an informal social system in which values and beliefs are shared about how to coordinate their efforts to achieve business and individual goals. It is a control attributed to intimate associations of people dedicated to the economic activity, but united by a bond of blood or family.

This type of control is only possible if there are a rule of reciprocity, a legitimate authority and a social agreement in which values and beliefs that share and guide every day the everyday activities. By reciprocity is understood an agreement among the members in which if it doesn’t act sticked to the value received in the same way, its peer will punish it. It is necessary that those who work in the company are coupled to family values and principles and share them, even when the organization becomes bigger and it should be established a specialized control system. In the familiar enterprises informal control will be essential to give legitimacy to formal control.

Social responsibility represents benefits for the society where the organizations are located, but for the companies too , since their effects are also felt in profitability.Just as you read it, it is proven that the risk of affecting the profitability of companies and enterprises grows when there is no specific application of responsibility with the organization's environment, nor transparency and business ethics. It is therefore, essential that organizations incorporate socially responsible actions into their management and, the benefits go beyond philanthropy or timely help that companies can provide to the communities where they operate. The actions of social responsibility are highly beneficial for organizations beyond the immediate effect that their action generates in society, and in the long term, the contribution that companies and enterprises make in their environment help generate a virtuous circle and healthy economic development.  How they do this?By i

Mauro Libi Crestani: Change initiatives are not just whole scale business transformations

By  Mauro Libi Crestani.  Business hire management teams to figure out new ways to solve customer problems, improve products, create new revenue streams, and reduce costs. This involves creating new ideas for change. Technology, innovation, products and the way of doing business means coming up with new ideas for staying competitive in today’s quick moving market. Every change starts with an idea—a vision of what could happen to create a tangible benefit for an organization. But ideas are not enough. Change initiatives are not just whole scale business transformations. These make-or-break moments can also be leadership changes, restructurings, culture changes, system implementations, operational excellence programs, workforce programs or new market expansions. This involves time and money. Given all the investment in change and its importance to a company’s future health it is important to take note that…..
