Mauro Libi: Tips for making your home office succeed

More and more people decide to put their operations center at home. The home office is a growing trend, both for those who work independently or those who work under the teleworking modality. The home office is dynamic that has impacted so positively on productivity that its increase is calculated by the Microsoft giant by 30 percent. There are many advantages about home office, such as less environmental pollution, time savings, among others.

Here are six tips to make your home office successful:

1. Set precise goals and objectives and maintain a constant communication with your team. This is the best thing, because without having direct supervision it is pertinent to set clear objectives and goals from the beginning of establishing themselves under this work modality. Whether you work independently or by agreement with your company, you have to have clear about what you want to achieve to fully comply with it. Team members should be in constant communication to report progress and to prevent distance work from affecting operability.

2. Count on a fixed space. It is you who decides where and how your home office operates, so choose the space in which you will perform every day. Condition it and make it a pleasant place to work. Make sure you have good lighting and ventilation, privacy and comfort.

3. Set schedules and establish a routine working from home doesn’t imply a lower level of professionalism, set schedules for both your work day and the tasks you will perform during the day. One of the dangers of working from home is not know when to stop, so the healthiest thing is to set a deadline to meet the goals of the day. Do not forget to add spaces in your program of the day to eat and rest.

4. Drive away distractions. Eliminate everything that may distract you from your responsibilities, those distracting and disturbing elements that only detract from productivity. Let your family or friends know that even though you are at home you are working and your time should be respected.

5. From the beginning, you have to work with comfort. A good desk, furniture, equipment, good internet connection, in short, all the requirements for work. Design a backup plan for contingencies.

6. You must be very clear and accurately determine that this modality of work is what you want and need. Keep in mind that telecommuting or teleworking is not compatible with all personalities.

Mauro Libi Crestani: Change initiatives are not just whole scale business transformations

By  Mauro Libi Crestani.  Business hire management teams to figure out new ways to solve customer problems, improve products, create new revenue streams, and reduce costs. This involves creating new ideas for change. Technology, innovation, products and the way of doing business means coming up with new ideas for staying competitive in today’s quick moving market. Every change starts with an idea—a vision of what could happen to create a tangible benefit for an organization. But ideas are not enough. Change initiatives are not just whole scale business transformations. These make-or-break moments can also be leadership changes, restructurings, culture changes, system implementations, operational excellence programs, workforce programs or new market expansions. This involves time and money. Given all the investment in change and its importance to a company’s future health it is important to take note that….. Mauro Libi Crestani: Negative attitude can destroy your career and personal life

I once went into a car dealership for a car purchase. I was meet by a salesman who was dressed in a well ironed suit and he had the biggest smile. He introduced himself by name and he asked for my name. He offered me something to drink as we discussed my desires in a car.  Let me assure you, that you came to the right place. He had been with that dealership for years. His customers stayed with him each time they wanted a new car.  I was told that this car dealership was about positive attitude. The salespeople , the finance  department , the service department all had to be positive that their customers were treated with the best service and that all their needs and concerns were listened to and acted on. I felt so positive that this was the place for me.  I have a married friend  who in sales. He is always depressed and always quiet. He is my friend and I once went to him to purchase his product for my company. He was telling me how sales were down, that he was not sure that he w

How does technology help in business communication?

One of the elements which has undoubtedly worked to support our growth, expansion and excellence projects in the last years, has been technology applied to business communication. I still remember when everything was reduced to memos, billboards, advertisements, photos and one or another printed publication in order to communicate inside the company; at the same time absolutely massive Advertising in existing media was in charge to go to the great public which included our customers and prospects.  Today we can say that with the advance of humankind, communication needed is also appearing. And our times make use of digital communication to improve business processes with more efficient and functional ways which allow more interaction, and overall, business productivity. Technology in communication expressed in the use of Internet, and with it, the Web, social networks, e-mails, multimedia resources (videos, infographics, memes, podcast, live broadcast, etc.); joined wi
