the urge to perform well and reach the set goals. Initiative is the desire to
win, to do well. An athlete can not win the competition that he is in if
he does not have the initiative to take home the prize. It is what makes a
runner get up early in the morning and run those extra miles at speeds that
causes his body agony. It is what is needed to win the game.
In business, targets have to be achieved and
without initiative one cannot do so. Setting goals and the mindset
to achieve them will have a positive effect of the rest of the
employees. A manager who shows much initiative in attaining results will also
encourage his or her staff to do the same. Motivation levels will be at a high
as the bosses employees sees your enthusiasm and confidence in the goal and it
will be contagious and they too will have increase motivation to make it work.(

With the proper mindset positioned to achieve
certain goals and the sense of urgency and the belief that it can be achieved ,
there is a greater chance that your targets will be achieved. The initiative to
perform well results in higher profits. Performance will be surpass your set
goals. Positive attitude will come from your desire to achieve your goals and
your belief that you can. This will no doubt, create a happy work environment,
where everyone feels energized to achieve their very best. Creative thinking
will be at its highest. It’s a never cycle of positive energy bringing higher
and higher goals, targets and results. Creative thinking will bring in new

The desire to achieve your stated goals and
your confidence in your ability to do so, will also allow you to face previous
set backs with the energy level that they can be reversed or to face the fact
that its not in your interest to spend more time on that project and move on.

The opposite of business initiative is going
into a project with no enthusiasm and not belief in the project or in your
ability to achieve it. Can you imagine your teams level of motivation when you
do not have any motivation in the project yourself. A lack-luster approach can
result in fewer profits and in fact even the business can wind up in trouble.
There is an old business saying that you get
out what you put in. The great innovators of our digital age such as Bill Gates
and Steve Jobs understood the importance in giving your projects your all and
in encouraging the staff to do the same. They understood, that the creation of
a fun work environment based on an internal desire to succeed and achieve goals
is the key to success in a company and without that sense of initiative you
