Mauro Libi Crestani: ‘‘I believe you can be a great one in business if you believe in yourself

By Mauro Libi Crestani. Following high school, Ziglar served in the Navy during World War II and later attended the University of South Carolina. His life took a turn when he left school to pursue a sales career, hoping to earn a better living for his family. For two years, Ziglar struggled for financial survival. He was not able to make a living and was all about to resign himself to the fact that he would forever live a life of poverty.

Then his boss, a Mr. Merrill had a few words with him that would change his life.   Mr. Merrill had a cookware company and Ziglar was a salesman working for him. I am going to quote part of this story from a book called ‘Life at the Top’ written years latter by Zig Ziglar.

Mr. Merrill: “ I have never  seen such a waste of time and effort”
Ziglar remembers. “Well, that was kind of a shock.
But I asked, ‘What do you mean?’
He said, ‘‘I believe you can be a great one in this business if you would just believe in yourself, work on learning more, doing better and helping other people.’

Now, Mr. Merrill’s company had 7000 salespeople. Ziglar went from being one of the worst salespeople to the number two salesperson within a matter of weeks and then took a job with another company of was their number one salesperson. Merrell didn’t wave a magic wand over Ziglar that fateful day, but until that point, Ziglar viewed himself as a little guy from a little town. Merrell saw him as a potential champion. Merrell’s words were the key that allowed Ziglar to unlock the potential within. The key was belief. Now Mr. Merrill’s words was taken to heart by Ziglar but still as with anyone that tries a new and changing attitude, it was not easy and Ziglar still had his doubts that he would ever be anything more than just a little guy from a little town.

That was when he read Dr. Norman Vincent Peale’s book,  The Power of Positive Thinking. Dr. Peale helped me identify the real source of my problems. Needless to say, it was me.  Ziglar learned that he was the only thing standing between himself and his success. The way he saw himself, the way he saw others and what he believed about himself and others could either propel his success or inhibit it.

Zig Ziglar was to go on to become the most famous and successful motivational speaker in modern times. For the last fifty years of his life he was to give countless success seminars and workshops and wrote over twenty four books. His seminars stressed one main point. You could unlock your true potential if you just believed in yourself.

Positive attitude goes even a step further than just having belief in yourself. It changes who you are. When you encourage others to feel better about themselves and you encourage them to be more positive, then you will actually gain more out of that encouragement than they will get from your words.

“So many times people have responded so well. When you encourage others, you in the process are encouraged because you’re making a commitment and difference in that person’s life. Encouragement really does make a difference.” “Help other people do the right thing, tutor them if it’s possible and practical, but always encourage them. Encouragement is the fuel on which success thrives.” By Mauro Libi Crestani.

Mauro Libi Crestani: Change initiatives are not just whole scale business transformations

By  Mauro Libi Crestani.  Business hire management teams to figure out new ways to solve customer problems, improve products, create new revenue streams, and reduce costs. This involves creating new ideas for change. Technology, innovation, products and the way of doing business means coming up with new ideas for staying competitive in today’s quick moving market. Every change starts with an idea—a vision of what could happen to create a tangible benefit for an organization. But ideas are not enough. Change initiatives are not just whole scale business transformations. These make-or-break moments can also be leadership changes, restructurings, culture changes, system implementations, operational excellence programs, workforce programs or new market expansions. This involves time and money. Given all the investment in change and its importance to a company’s future health it is important to take note that….. Mauro Libi Crestani: Negative attitude can destroy your career and personal life

I once went into a car dealership for a car purchase. I was meet by a salesman who was dressed in a well ironed suit and he had the biggest smile. He introduced himself by name and he asked for my name. He offered me something to drink as we discussed my desires in a car.  Let me assure you, that you came to the right place. He had been with that dealership for years. His customers stayed with him each time they wanted a new car.  I was told that this car dealership was about positive attitude. The salespeople , the finance  department , the service department all had to be positive that their customers were treated with the best service and that all their needs and concerns were listened to and acted on. I felt so positive that this was the place for me.  I have a married friend  who in sales. He is always depressed and always quiet. He is my friend and I once went to him to purchase his product for my company. He was telling me how sales were down, that he was not sure that he w

How does technology help in business communication?

One of the elements which has undoubtedly worked to support our growth, expansion and excellence projects in the last years, has been technology applied to business communication. I still remember when everything was reduced to memos, billboards, advertisements, photos and one or another printed publication in order to communicate inside the company; at the same time absolutely massive Advertising in existing media was in charge to go to the great public which included our customers and prospects.  Today we can say that with the advance of humankind, communication needed is also appearing. And our times make use of digital communication to improve business processes with more efficient and functional ways which allow more interaction, and overall, business productivity. Technology in communication expressed in the use of Internet, and with it, the Web, social networks, e-mails, multimedia resources (videos, infographics, memes, podcast, live broadcast, etc.); joined wi
